A performance based on the memoirs of Theodoros Kolokotronis. ‘A History of the Greek Race from 1770 to 1836’ sheds light on unknown aspects of the struggle for Greek independence, as told by the Old Man of the Peloponnese to Georgios Tertsetis.
As depicted in the Museum’s oil painting, Theodoros Kolokotronis (1770-1843) could still be the model of Greek heroism. The Old Man of the Peloponnese’s talents as a leader and the sense of assurance that he gave his comrades continue to make him the most symbolic figure from the War of Independence.
