Oleg Grabar, one of the pre-eminent scholars of Islamic Art and Architecture, will give a lecture on “Silver from Byzantium to China: a work in process”.
Oleg Grabar taught at Harvard University for many years, and in 1980 became the first Aga Khan Professor of Islamic Art and Architecture. Since 1990 he has taught at the Institute for Advanced Study, School of Historical Studies, where he was made Professor Emeritus in 1998.
Oleg Grabar will be introduced by Anna Ballian, curator of the Museum’s Islamic collection.
The lecture will be given in English.
