The Ministry of Culture organised the 2nd International Sketching Competition with the title “Children of the Future”, in which 473 artists from 67 countries submitted 892 sketches seeking to win the prizes and commendations.
Based on the rationale that children are the life-giving cell of society, a potential font of the modern and the contemporary, an inexhaustible source of emotions and creative regeneration and a vulnerable social group with sensitive emotions, exposed to discrimination and abuse, the contest had as its goal a “sketch/depiction” of the archetypal philosophy, the progress and life of the planet "Child", which is headed towards the cosmic cultural universe called Life, in other to join up with other planets and galaxies.
The competition is dedicated to all the children of the world, i.e. to Generation Next.
The exhibition will be open to the public from the 21st November 2007, while on the day the exhibition opens, November 20th, the prizes and commendations will be awarded to their recipients (19:30, amphitheatre).
