Alexander the Great in epic Persian poetry. For the first time in Athens, excerpts from Nizami’sIskandarnama of the 12th century are dramatized. Battles, journeys and spiritual quests formulate the image of the great ruler.
A miniature painting from the famous work of Persian literature Hamsa (Pentad) byNisamitakes us to the world and the legends of Alexander the Great or Iskandar. The miniature, is attributed to a Shirazi workshopof the 16th century and depicts the hero with his son discussing with his teacher Aristotle and other sagesof the Antiquity.
